The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the plenary, verbally inspired Word of God and is inerrant in the original writings to be upheld as the supreme and final authority in faith and life. We support and encourage the use of the King James (Authorised) Version of the Bible in public English services and for personal memorisation.
(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
The God-Head
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
(Mark 12:29; John 4:24; 14:9; Psalm 135:6; 18:30; 145:5; Deuteronomy 33:27; John 5:23, 26; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Acts 5:3, 4)
We believe that Jesus Christ incarnate was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.
(John 1:1, 14; 3:16; Galatians 1:16)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person possessing all the attributes of personality and of deity, by whom believers are called, regenerated, baptised into Christ, indwelt, sealed, and filled for service. The distinction between the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the Old and New Testament dispensations must be recognised, i.e. there is a new and unique work of the Holy Spirit in relation to the body of Christ in the New Testament for which there is no Old Testament parallel.
(1 Corinthians 6:19; 12:13; Ephesians 4:30; Romans 8:14; John 14:26)

(1 Corinthians 6:19; 12:13; Ephesians 4:30; Romans 8:14; John 14:26)
The Angels
We believe in the personal existence of angels – the faithful ministers of God, and the fallen angels, demons, and Satan – the unholy god of this world and author of all the powers of darkness, who is destined to the judgement of eternal punishment in the lake of fire.
(Ezekiel 28:13-17; Isaiah 14:13, 14; 1 Timothy 3:7; Revelation 20:10)
(Ezekiel 28:13-17; Isaiah 14:13, 14; 1 Timothy 3:7; Revelation 20:10)
The Creation Record
We believe in the Genesis account of creation, including the direct creation of man in God’s image apart from any process of evolution.
(Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7, 18-24; Matthew 19:4)
(Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7, 18-24; Matthew 19:4)
The Fall of Man
We believe that man, who was created in the image of God, sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.
(Genesis 3:1-24; 5:3; Ephesians 2:3; Romans 3:23; 5:12)
(Genesis 3:1-24; 5:3; Ephesians 2:3; Romans 3:23; 5:12)
The Salvation of Man
We believe the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through the mediatorial work of the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood and are in possession of a salvation which is eternally secure.
(Romans 3:24-26; 5:6; 1 Corinthians 15:1-3; Ephesians 1:7)
We believe the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; that it is a supernatural work wrought by the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth, and thereby all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ become children of God.
(Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 1:12; Romans 10:9, 10)
(Romans 3:24-26; 5:6; 1 Corinthians 15:1-3; Ephesians 1:7)
We believe the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; that it is a supernatural work wrought by the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth, and thereby all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ become children of God.
(Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 1:12; Romans 10:9, 10)
The Church
We believe in the unity of all true believers in the Church which is the body of Christ, and that this is a distinctively New Testament organism. We believe in the local Church as a company of baptised believers associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel, independent and self-governing, which should fellowship with other churches of like faith and order. It is the responsibility of the local church to observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, edify itself, and to evangelise the world.
(Acts 2:41, 42; Ephesians 4:11; Matthew 28:19, 20; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Acts 8:36-39; Matthew 3:16; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28)
(Acts 2:41, 42; Ephesians 4:11; Matthew 28:19, 20; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Acts 8:36-39; Matthew 3:16; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28)
The Baptism of the Believer
We believe Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water to show forth symbolically our faith in the crucified, buried, risen Saviour, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; and that it is a pre-requisite for Church membership. We believe that Lord’s Supper is the commemoration of His death until He comes, and should be preceded always by solemn self-examination.

(Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41, 42; Romans 8:32; Matthew 26:26-30)
The Resurrection & Return of Christ
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present ministry there for us as High Priest and Advocate.
(1 Corinthians 15:35-58; Acts 1:8)
We believe that the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ to catch up His people to meet Him in the air is imminent; i.e. that the rapture of all believers will precede the 70th week of Daniel, commonly referred to as the Tribulation. We believe in the personal and bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ to set up His Kingdom upon earth, and this will take place following the Tribulation.
(Acts 1:11; Revelation 1:7; Titus 2:11-13; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 19:1-20)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust; the saved to everlasting blessedness in full enjoyment of God’s presence in Heaven, and the lost to everlasting conscious punishment in Hell eternally separated from God.
(Philippians 1:21-23; 2 Corinthians 5:8; 1 John 3:2; Luke 16:19-31; 2 Peter 2:9; Revelation 20:11-15)
